Springer Nature - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Research Highlights

Posted By Liz Britt, Marketing Manager

A message from our parent organization, Springer Nature Group

The need for continued access to research and learning has never been more important. We recognize our role in this and are working with global organizations, such as the World Health Organisation and the initiative from the White House Office of Science and Technology to make all relevant global research, and data, immediately available. We also continue to work directly with teachers, lecturers, librarians, students and institutions to support their work (read more about how we respond to public health emergencies).

We have made over 19,000 pieces of research from our journals and books available for free and will continue to do so as new relevant research is published.

So far we have:

  • Enabled free access to over 70,000 articles, book chapters, reference works and protocols on our platforms
  • Published over 24,000 new COVID-19 articles and supported all researchers in making their underlying experimental data sets available for free and re-use
  • Made available, via Research Square, over 5,500 COVID-19 preprint articles
